    They look great. Where do you get Baltic birch plywood? Nobody around here even knows what it is. I like the look of it and probably wouldn’t use edge banding. I’ll save that for regular plywood, which seems to be the only thing I can get in my area.

      I would love to offer this but every kitchen sink is unique so it would be irrelevant to offer them. The only thing I can suggest is to use side mount slides that are rated at 4x your weight usage. Aka if you plan to store >25lbs in a drawer get 100lbs rated slides. Aka vertical slides when used horizontally go to 1/4 weight rating.

      Yes, I used 100lbs side mount slides as bottom slides which end up being rated at 25 pounds each when used this way, I used 2 per drawer.

    Your setup was uneven. You should measure how far apart you want the rails to sit then adjust both sides so you are centre on the cart, this will evenly distribute the weight on both wheels. That’s why it has measurements on the sliding rail. Also, the stand should be facing the bow. 😊

    I got this one but don’t leave your kayak hooked up to the cart while in storage or in your garage. The info says it’s rated at around 300 lbs. I left my cart hooked up yo my kayak while in my garage and the tires are hard plastic and will leave a dent in the tires.

      I sure did. I used 100lb rated side mounts underneath the bottoms. They are reduced to 25lb ratings when used underneath fyi, so make sure you use heavy duty slides. I wouldn’t recommend doing this with the light duty slides.

    Great video, especially the trick about the 4th plug that was hard to get to. We had already spent an hour trying to replace it. That was the only spark plug we had to replace after it had worked it's way loose. Now the engine starts nicely, and runsn well overall, but the idle is much higher, leading to very rough forward or backward changes. Can you think of something we might have hit that screwed up our idle? Thanks.

    • @DIYBuildouts
      @DIYBuildouts 5 місяців тому

      Thanks! Since I’m not a professional mechanic, I would be guessing. My first thought is if you didn’t touch anything else maybe the gapping on the spark plugs is incorrect? If it’s not that then, maybe something has worked its way loose elsewhere.

    Just wondering, does the 90 degree elbow just friction fit? I would have guessed that moving the transducer up and down into the water would wear it out and become loose. I know the line won’t allow you to lose the transducer, just thought it may be annoying if the elbow pops off, or gets so loose the transducer might ride up.

    • @DIYBuildouts
      @DIYBuildouts 5 місяців тому

      So I glued the one side, and the side connection I hit with sandpaper to rough it up slightly. This allows it to swing up/down but with hand force. It stays in place when pedaling, then easily swings up when you are going to land the kayak. I have been very happy with how this turned out!

    Hi i have an ober heating problem on my 60 hp merc 6 4 stroke on my 2014 mako skiff It keeps overheating at full throttle.. i dont think it should be doing this.. ive done every maintenance possible and new thermostat water impellar the boat runs excellent has perfect conpression.. it just doesnt seem to like running at full throttle even for 2 minutes over heats and has a problem.. but it never throws an over heat alarm? Does your boat not run full throttle? Seems to like 4500 rpms and under

    • @DIYBuildouts
      @DIYBuildouts 6 місяців тому

      Sorry to hear that. My boat runs at full throttle just fine. If yours is overheating, my first thought is the impeller needs to be replaced, and maybe some of the gaskets around it so that it’s properly sealed and cooling. If you’ve already done all of that, you may need to take it to a professional because there could be an electrical issue, or something other than the standard cooling cycles at play.

    Did you add the drawer slides to the underside of the sliding boxes and then slide them into the slides mounted on the 3/4 plywood strips. Would this allow you to then push the strips to the back wall to screw in and then slide the cabinet forward to screw through the slide into the bottom of the cabinet. I watched the video a few times but could not figure out the order the slides were aligned and then mounted. Thanks in advance

    • @DIYBuildouts
      @DIYBuildouts 6 місяців тому

      Correct! I attached the slides to the bottom of the cabinetry tray, then put everything in position, then carefully slid the tray forward with a secondary hand for support. This allowed me to access those rear screw holes to mount the tray down and back. Going about it this way insured that the tray could slide easily, and all of the tracks were perfectly aligned.

    Did a similar setup on my first kayak. I bought a scotty mount and found that the 1/2” pvc will slide through the side of the scotty mount. This enabled the arm to swing up easily. Only issue was it would swing up a little too easy at times when moving fast the water would swing it up some. Used that for years and eventually bought the scotty arm that goes into the top of the mount. The scotty arm was like $20-$30

    • @DIYBuildouts

      Yeah, I had the Scotty on my last kayak but wasn’t a fan. I thought this time around I would come up with a new solution. I will say that this does not spin or come up like some do so I have not needed to replace it. It’s been quite handy, especially for its cost.

    • @DIYBuildouts
      @DIYBuildouts 8 місяців тому

      Hello! There could be many things that are causing your problem. The way I would diagnose it, and I am not an official mechanic I should point out, is by looking at what you recently changed. If it was working fine before the spark plugs but now after changing the spark plugs it’s running rough…It is likely the new spark plugs. It may be the wrong brand or the gapping on the spark plugs may be incorrect. After that, you are going to have to go down the list of diagnosis from fuel line and all sorts of other things that are more complex then this comment can handle
